Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatu Allahi wa Barakatuh. May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be with you. The Northern Muslim Association is pleased to announce tomorrow Wednesday, March 22nd, 2023 will be the last day of Shaban 1444.  The first day of Ramadan this year is going to be Thursday March 23rd, 2023 Insha Allah. Ramadan Mubarak to all of you, May Allah make fasting it easy for all of us.

Please join us for the daily Iftar provided by volunteers after Magrib, Isha & Taraweeh every night led by Sheik Shareef Alzahran and Halaqa every Friday and Saturday after Taraweeh at the Antwerp Masjid. The first Taraweeh will be held tomorrow, Wednesday March 22,2023, immediately after the Ishaa prayer at 09:15 pm, Inchaa Allah.

Ramadan 1443 AH

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatu Allahi wa Barakatuh. May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be with you. The Northern Muslim Association is pleased to announce today Friday, April 1st , 2022 will be the last day of Shaban 1443.  The first day of Ramadan this year is going to be Saturday April 2nd, 2022 Insha Allah. Ramadan Mubarak to all of you, May Allah make fasting it easy for all of us.

Inchallah this Ramadan will be the first since the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic that Musallis will be allowed to pray shoulder to shoulder without any vaccination requirements. Masks and prayer mats are optional. Passive screening of individuals prior to entering the masjid will no longer be required.

Assalamu Alaikum,

With the recent update from the Province of Ontario, Insha’Allah NMA masjid will be shifting back to “no capacity limit and no proof of vaccine requirement.”

Effective Tuesday March 31, 2022 (Fajr), Musallis will be allowed to pray shoulder to shoulder without any vaccination requirements. Masks and prayer mats are optional. Passive screening of individuals prior to entering the masjid will no longer be required.

June 11, 2021 – COVID-19 Announcement

Dear Brothers and Sisters

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatu Allahi wa Barakatuh

Based on the most recent announcements by Government of Ontario, the Northern Muslim Association (NMA) is pleased to announce that beginning Friday, June 11 our Masjid will allow congregants up to permitted 15% of the Maximum capacity – At this stage, the maximum allowed indoor capacity at our Masjid will be 42 persons.

This announcement is part of Step 1 of the ‘Roadmap to Reopen’ the Ontario Government is implementing to safely and cautiously reopen the province and gradually lift public health measures. We encourage our community members to keep following all the guidelines of the public health officials to help decrease community transmission.

Note: more announcements to come as we continue to move in right direction into the next step of reopening

May 10, 2021 – COVID-19 Announcement

Dear Muslim Brothers and Sisters, Assalamu Alikum,

Based on the ongoing Covid-19 “Stay-at-Home-Order” restrictions limiting the capacity of religious services to 10 people indoors or outdoors.

The Northern Muslim Association (NMA) is informing our brothers and sisters that our Masjid will be holding three (3) Eid Al-Fiter prayers to accommodate the maximum number of worshipers.  

Eid Day (Subject to moon sighting)

The first Eid prayer will be held at the Masjid starting at 7:00 AM SHARP

The Second Eid prayer will be held at the Masjid starting at 8:00 AM SHARP

the third Eid prayer will be held at the Masjid starting at 9:00 AM SHARP

Notes:

  1. All brothers wanting to attend one of these prayers MUST register their names in advance on the list posted at the Masjid.
  2. Attendees Must be 18 years or older
  3. On the Eid Day please DO NOT arrive sooner than your scheduled time slot.
  4. Pease leave the Masjid immediately in an orderly way after the Kotba so the next group can enter.
  5. Absolutely no gatherings are allowed on the masjid property.
  6. Come prepared with wudu, bring your own prayer mat, keep your mask on, practice social distancing at all times and follow all COVID-19 Protocols and be considerate of others.
  7. If you are not feeling well please pray at home with your family.

Eid Al-Adha 1441 AH (2020)

Dear Muslim Brothers and Sisters, Assalamu Alikum,

It’s with great pleasure that The Northern Muslim Association (NMA) announces that; the 10th of Dhu al-Hijjah 1441 AH (Eid Al-Adha) meets Friday, July 31st, 2020 Gregorian.

The Eid prayer will be held at the Masjid on 468 Antwerp, Iqama at 8:45 AM on Friday

Due to the on going COVID-19 Pandemic restrictions on gatherings at religious places in Ontario, there will be a limited number of individuals allowed in the building at once. Please try to come early in order to be allowed inside. For your safety and the safety of others, please follow these instructions:

  1. Bring your prayer matt
  2. Bring your face mask
  3. Make Wudu at home
  4. Practice social distancing at all times
  5. Keep safe and healthy
  6. No refreshments nor sweets will be served after Khutba

NMA wishes Eid Mubarak to all our brothers and sisters while asking Allah (swt) to keep us on the right path and accept from you and us our sacrifices and good deeds, Ameen.

Please Note that at this unprecedented time, in order to accommodate more people, all three Masjids in Sudbury have coordinated prayer timings through a joint effort as mentioned below:

The Northern Muslim Association is pleased to announce Tomorrow Thursday, April 23, 2020 will be the last day of Shaban 1440.  The first day of Ramadan this year is going to be Friday April 24, 2020 Insha Allah. Ramadan Mubarak to all of you, May Allah make fasting it easy for all of us.

Due to the COVID19 outbreak this year, we are sorry to announce that we will be continuing to suspend all congregational services at the Masjid including Jummah Prayers (including Taraweeh prayer) and all other activities (including daily Iftar and weekend schools) during this month and until future notice.

2020 – COVID19

Dear Brothers and Sisters

 Based on the most recent announcements and several press conferences held by public health officials, Northern Muslims Association (NMA) would suspend congregational services including Jummah Prayers and all other activities including weekend schools until further notice.

We encourage our community members to follow the guidelines of public health officials and scholarly opinions to stay at home to decrease community transmission.
